Parthia is a formable nation that can be created by a Scythian culture group country that takes control of the Parthian region. Historically, the Iranian Parthian kingdom was formed by the Arsacid dynasty of Flag of Parnia Parnia, who conquered the Flag of Seleukid Empire Seleukid satrapy of Flag of Parthia Parthia when it rose in rebellion in 238 BC. While the Arsacids would at first be forced to become a vassal of the Flag of Seleukid Empire Seleukid Empire, they would soon take advantage of Flag of Seleukid Empire Seleukid weakness in the wake of dynastic disputes and crippling defeats by the Flag of Rome Romans to declare independence and seize control over all of Greater Persian region, restoring Iranian rule for the first time since the fall of the Flag of Achaemenid Empire Achaemenid Empire and forming an empire stretching from Mesopotamia to Ariana. With a syncretic culture combining both a revival of older Iranian traditions and Hellenistic influence from the Flag of Seleukid Empire Seleukids and a decentralized realm marked by the presence of many autonomous vassal kings, the Parthian Empire would be one of the fiercest rivals of the Flag of Rome Romans in the Middle East until their overthrow by the Sassanids.

Parthia can be formed by any county in the Scythian culture group, primarily intended for the Dahaen tribes of Flag of Parnia Parnia and Flag of Zanthia Zanthia but in principle formable by any of the Scythian kingdoms of the steppe if they migrate there. Flag of Dahae Dahae is a commonly formed intermediate tag, as most potential forming nations will either begin or pass through that area, which is more easily conquered than the required provinces for Parthia under the Flag of Seleukid Empire Seleukid satrapy of Flag of Parthia Parthia as well as giving claims on all the territories needed to form Parthia. Notably for an endgame tier 3 tag, it only requires controlling a territories across two different provinces and does not provide any claims, though forming Flag of Dahae Dahae does gives claims on the region of Parthia. However, forming Parthia does give the temporary Parthian Identity modifier with strong bonuses to Pop assimilation.png assimilation speed and Unintegrated culture group happiness wrong culture-group happiness, making rapid expansion in the near future significantly easier. Forming Parthia will also switching the forming country's culture to Parthian, which will give it the same culture group as much of the rest of the Iranian plateau and making expansion there much easier.

Events

There is a single country-specific event relating to Parthia, which spawns Arsaces in the country and makes him the ruler. Note that despite the event being about Parthia, it is actually triggered after the formation of Flag of Dahae Dahae, allowing the country to use the bonuses and army that is spawned to pursue the conquest of Parthia.[1]
