Tomb of an Emperor

Event trigger.png If the country is Flag of Rome Rome or in the Hellenistic culture group:

After the recent conquest of [SCOPE.sP('body_province').GetName], our warriors spent much time prowling the streets for spoils.

During this predatory but tolerated activity, one of our loyal officers reported coming across a sombre edifice shrouded in an atmosphere of majesty, the likes of which he had never before experienced.

Event trigger.png Otherwise:

After the conquest of [SCOPE.sP('body_province').GetName], our soldiers, as usual, sacked the city, making off with all manner of spoils. There was, however, one area of the city that remained largely untouched by looting.

A grand edifice, looming over the tightly packed districts of [SCOPE.sP('body_province').GetName], stood proud throughout our conquest. In it, lies the body of the most revered of men: Alexander.

Event trigger.png If the country is in the Hellenistic culture group:

On closer inspection, this mighty building contained naught but a single sarcophagus, which the we believe belonged to the mighty warrior Alexander, known to the Greeks as; 'the Great'.

Event trigger.png Otherwise, if the country is Flag of Rome Rome:

On closer inspection, this mighty building contained naught but a single sarcophagus, which the we believe belonged to the mighty conqueror and ancestor of kings, Alexander the Great.

Event trigger.png Otherwise:

His victories almost innumerable, this man had a vision the likes of which has not been seen since.

Event trigger.png If alexander_body_location is Alexandreia (516):

It seems that he has been buried with the honor and respect that he must have deserved; in a great city, overlooking a sea he once called home.

Event trigger.png Otherwise, if alexander_body_location is Birka (6030), Eboracum (2075), or Margineia (6697):

We remain unsure how his body ended up in this location, so far from his home.

Event trigger.png Otherwise, if alexander_body_location is Alexandreia (516):

It would appear that his remains have been tussled over, finally ending up buried by one of the self-proclaimed kings, who fought over the scraps of his empire.

Event trigger.png If the country is Flag of Rome Rome or in the Hellenistic culture group:

Possessing the tomb of this great warrior is bound to bring us great prestige, not to mention the jealousy of our peers. It is true, however, that this great man commanded such respect that others may seek to wrest his body from us.

Event trigger.png Otherwise:

Such a man deserves to be left in peace for his eternal slumber, but various voices in our armies cry out for differing treatment of the remains of this hero, once feared and admired in equal measure.''

Resting Place of a Conqueror

The sarcophagus of Alexander the Great was carried into our city, attended by great crowds. All fell silent at the sight; perhaps awed by the sobriety of the fate of such a great and honorable man.

It would become us to prepare a great mausoleum, worthy of laying this paragon of virtue to his final rest.
