Sardinia
Sardinia is a formable nation in southern Europe, representing a unification of the island under the rule of the native Nuragic tribes. It can be formed by any Nuragic cultured country and requires both conquering the other remaining tribes as well as expelling
Carthage (or any other power that has gained a foothold in the region) from its colonies on the coast - a difficult task considering the isolation of the Nuragic tribes and the strength of the Carthaginian empire.
Sardinia can also be released through the Roman unique national mission The First Provincia as part of an event/mission chains after conquering the island, either as a
tribal vassal if
Rome decides to grant autonomy to the tribes or as a
revolt against Roman rule if
Rome decides otherwise, reflecting the many historical rebellions by the Sardinians against Roman rule that went on for over a century after the Roman conquest in 238 BC as well as the eventual concessions of autonomy to the highland tribes of Barbaria in the east of the island.

Formation requirements[edit]
Sardinia can be formed by any Nuragic cultured country, such as 20px Balaria or 20px Iliensia, that has managed to unite the entire island under its rule.
Form Sardinia
The tribes of Sardinia have often been controlled by warlords from the south or east, controlling the most fertile pieces of the island while forcing the locals up in the highlands. Under our rule the people of Sardinia shall fend for themselves without the interference of foreign hostile forces.

Release requirements[edit]
- Main article: The First Provincia
After conquering the island from Carthage and the native tribes,
Rome will have to choose how to deal with the island and its unruly inhabitants through a task of the The First Provincia unique national mission tree. While the task is running,
Rome will be given the choice to either grant autonomy to the locals, releasing the mountainous eastern half of the island as a
tribal vassal while keeping the more settled and urbanized coast, or persist in establishing more centralized control, which will result in a Nuragic uprising once the task finishes.

The Sardinians are legendary for their opposition of foreign invaders, deterring Carthaginian domination of the island. We must be ready for the inevitable backlash. |
The Sardinian Question
Many have taken to isolated communities in the mountains, living on banditry and piracy. One of their leaders now demands Sardinian self rule as a vassal tribe. The idea is deeply unpopular in Rome, but could free us from an endless insurgency of attrition.
