Phrygia is a formable nation that in central Anatolia, representing a restoration of the ancient kingdom that once dominated Anatolia in the 8th century BC before the rise of Flag of Lydia Lydia, realm of the legendary King Midas, home of the cult of Cybele, and an important satrapy under the Flag of Achaemenid Empire Achaemenid and Flag of Argead Empire Argead Empires. It can be created by a Phrygian culture countries that conquers all of the main cities of the Phrygian region, requiring the conquest of territories under the control of the Flag of Antigonid Kingdom Antigonid Kingdom and Flag of Paphlagonia Paphlagonia at the start of the game. While no country starts with Phrygian culture, Phrygia can still be formed by dynamically created client states or revolters that are released from Phrygian cultured provinces.

Effects
  • If the country is tribal, adopt the Federated Tribe government form
  • Otherwise, gain Political influence.png 150 political influence
  • Current country becomes 20px Phrygia (Formable)
  • Move the capital to Ankyra (194) and make it a city if it is currently a territory
  • Add Citizens 4 citizen pops and Freemen 4 freemen pops of the state culture and religion to Ankyra (194)
  • Ankyra (194) gets the modifier Emergent Capital until the end of the game, giving:
    • Global population growth.png +0.15% Local Population Growth
    • Freeman happiness +8% Local Freeman Happiness
    • Civilization.png +10% Local Civilization Level
  • Get claims on all territories in the regions of Phrygia and Cappadocia Taurica
  • Get Province investment 3 free province investments
Formation requirements for Phrygia. All fully coloured territories must be directly owned, while hatched territories will be claimed after formation.
