This page lists the events associated with the Matter of [Region] generic region conquest mission.[1]

The Matter of ['region_target']

The region of ['region_target'] has remained a valuable source of trade and commerce for our nation for many long years. Many amongst the [ROOT.GetCountry.Custom('get_court_type')] insist that such a bountiful land would serve much better purpose if fully integrated under the [ROOT.GetCountry.GetAdjective] banner.

Of course, as with all matters of state, many are in opposition, claiming that a healthy relationship with our neighbors is far more important than a wanton land-grab. The leaders of each side have presented their arguments and ask for an arbitration as to which method would be more appropriate in our dealings with the various states resident in ['region_target'].

  • Increase the country's mission stance weight by 1, or initialize to 1 if it does not currently exist
  • The warlike politician character gets the Advice Ignored loyalty modifier for 5 years, giving Loyalty.png -10 loyalty

Sounding Out the Opposition

Debate has raged for many years, over our rocky relationship with the nation-states resident in ['region_target']. [SCOPE.sC('friendly_neighbor_target').GetName], a nation many in [ROOT.GetCountry.GetName] call a friend, stands well-placed to provide us with assistance in our endeavors to control ['region_target'].

Many of our more warlike advisors, however, seem intent on burning all bridges and laying waste to [SCOPE.sC('friendly_neighbor_target').GetAdjective] lands in an effort to further advance our cause.

Immediate effects
  • If the friendly neighbour target has not yet been selected:
    • Randomly save a country whose capital is in region target, who is not a subject, and who is not the current country as the friendly neighbour target target, weighting countries with less than Local.png 20 territories and states with at least Opinion 25 opinion of the current country more
  • If a warlike politician target has not yet been selected:
    • Randomly save any office holder (except the ruler or the peaceful politician target) as the warlike politician target, weighting Party oligarchic.png Oligarchs, Party optimates.png Optimates, Party democratic.png Democrats, or Party populares.png Populares party leaders and characters with more than Military power.png 8 martial more

Immediate effects
  • Clear any of the country modifiers associated with the Matter of 'region target' mission (Small Olive Branch, Respectable Olive Branch, Entire Olive Tree, War March, Enhanced Militarization, and Drums in the Deep)

  • Otherwise, if the current country's mission stance weight is -2, get the modifier Enhanced Militarization for 20 years, giving:
    • Warscore cost -5% War score Cost
    • Diplomatic reputation.png -4 Diplomatic Reputation
  • Otherwise, if the current country's mission stance weight is -3, get the modifier Drums in the Deep for 20 years, giving:
    • Warscore cost -10% War score Cost
    • Diplomatic reputation.png -6 Diplomatic Reputation
