Flag of Galatia Galatia is a formable nation that in central Anatolia, representing the Celtic kingdom historically founded there at the height of their eastern expansion. It can be created by Gallic or Pannonian culture group countries that conquers or migrates to the region, and requires the conquest of territories under the control of the Flag of Antigonid Kingdom Antigonid Kingdom and Flag of Paphlagonia Paphlagonia at the start of the game.

Historically, Galatia was formed by migrating Gallic tribes - possibly including elements of the Flag of Tectosagia Tectosages - around 275 BC, settling down in northern Phrygia and forming a powerful kingdom respected for its military strength that frequently fought its neighbours as raiders and mercenaries. Like much of the region, Galatia was subjected to Flag of Rome Rome as a client kingdom by 189 BC and would be annexed as a province by 25 AD, but the Galatians would retain their distinctive Hellenized Celtic culture until at least the end of the classical era.

Effects
  • If the country is tribal, adopt the Federated Tribe government form
  • Otherwise, gain Political influence.png 150 political influence
  • Current country becomes Flag of Galatia Galatia
  • Move the capital to Ankyra (194) and make it a city if it is currently a territory
  • Add Citizens 4 citizen pops and Freemen 4 freemen pops of the state culture and religion to Ankyra (194)
  • Ankyra (194) gets the modifier Emergent Capital until the end of the game, giving:
    • Global population growth.png +0.15% Local Population Growth
    • Freeman happiness +8% Local Freeman Happiness
    • Civilization.png +10% Local Civilization Level
  • Get claims on all territories in the regions of Phrygia and Cappadocia Taurica
  • Get Province investment 3 free province investments
Formation requirements for Galatia. All fully coloured territories must be directly owned, while hatched territories will be claimed after formation.
