Arvernia is a local power in central Gaul, a federation of smaller tribes that has come together to form one of the stronger nations in the area. Historically Arvernia would muster its strength to dominate much of Gaul in the mid-2nd century BC before ceding that position to Aeduia after the first Roman campaigns into Gaul, though they would again rise to prominence under their chief Vercingtorix as the leader of the Gauls during the Gallic Wars against Rome. After falling conclusively under Roman control in 52 BC, the Arverni would continue to prosper under Roman rule, eventually becoming the medieval French county and province of Auvergne. Ingame Arvernia is one of the larger and more populous countries in Gaul, and as one of the few nations to start off with the Federated Tribe government form it is in a prime position to reform into a stronger and more stable government type and unite the Gauls under its rule.
As a country in the Gallic culture group located in one of the regions of Gaul, Arvernia has access to the decision to form Gaul.
The fertile land of Gaul contains many tribes and peoples, living in a prosperous, if tense, relationship. For some, this fractious existence is a sign of the old ways - instead, new methods are needed if our people are to survive in the era of civilization and empire. The task is not light, but perhaps we might be the driving force behind the unification of the Gallic people?
As well, Arvernia also has the option to form Galatia if it decides to migrate into Anatolia.
While we are far from the ancestral homeland of our people this is still a good land. Let us create a new state here, and teach these local peoples about the capabilities of the Celtic peoples.
Arvernia begins with a population of 85 spread over 13 territories, all Arverni Druidic. Notably for a tribal nation, a large proportion of its population is concentrated inside its capital of Ricomagus, making it relatively easier to promote tribesmen into other pop types.
